Test Description

The amount of HbA1C is directly proportional to the blood glucose level over the previous three months. Measuring the HbA1C can thus be used to Check blood sugar control in persons suspected to be diabetic, and Monitor glucose control achieved in diabetics on treatment.

Symptoms are: 

Need for frequent urination
Drowsiness
Nausea
Extreme hunger and/or thirst
Blurring of the vision Shaking
Fast heartbeat
Sweating
Anxiety
Dizziness
Extreme hunger
Weakness and tiredness
Irritability

Glucose can be measured in whole blood or serum (ie, plasma). Earlier blood glucose was measured in whole blood. Nowadays serum is extracted from blood and glucose is measured in the serum. Whole blood and serum blood glucose is often different. Red blood cells have higher concentration of protein than serum and serum has higher water content and more dissolved glucose than whole blood

 

Try to get at least 30 minutes of exercise five days a week. Eat a balanced diet with proper portion sizes Stick to a schedule. Follow your treatment plan. Check your blood sugar as directed.

A blood sample is needed.

The blood sample is sent to a lab. There, the creatinine level in the blood sample is tested. The lab specialist combines your creatinine level with several other factors to estimate your GFR.
