World Laughter Day

Laughter is a small word that sounds very ordinary, yet it can bring extraordinary health benefits! The World Laughter Day is an observed every year on the first Sunday of May. The first celebration took place on May 10, 1998, in Mumbai (India). It was arranged by founder of the worldwide Laughter Yoga movement, Dr. Madan Kataria. Since then, its popularity has risen exponentially with that of the Laughter Yoga Movement. Today, World Laughter Day event is being celebrated in more than 70 countries around the world.

The annual event of World Laughter Day is celebrated all over the world to raise awareness about the numerous healing benefits of laughter. You get to know about the various community groups around the world which work as Laughter Clubs – who regularly practice simple intentional laughter techniques that promote wellness and overall well-being. The clubs are open to all. Membership is free but you must bring with yourself a big smile!
