What is even irritating is just when you have just finished making your diet chart; a party invitation just pops up. Or an invitation for lunch spoils your plans for eating.

Experts say that woman on an average need 2000 calories per day to maintain and man needs about 2500 calories. Logically you lose weight by burning those calories off either by dieting or exercising or a combination of both.

Intake of Proteins

Health experts emphasize intake of protein in your diet as this helps in losing weight. Protein increases your metabolic rate and also curbs your appetite. Studies showed that people, who ate about 30% of calories as protein, ate 441 fewer calories per day. A permanent increase of protein in your diet will also fight cravings and you will find significant change in your weight loss as well.

Start Gradually

There are no shortcuts for losing weight. Start with a 30-minute walk later increasing it to 45 minutes to about an hour as per to your comfort. If you feel like going for a jog or wish to do yoga, try doing it for about three times in a week before increasing it. .

Cut down on Sugar

Try to eliminate sugar since these may trigger more calories in your body leading to obesity or weight gain. Avoid sodas, fruit juices, chocolate milk or other beverages with added sugar. And sugar may increase your hunger pangs leaving you to binge. Studies showed a 60% increased risk of obesity for each daily serving of sugar-sweetened beverage.

Less of Carbs

Cutting of carbohydrate reduces appetite and is also an effective way to lose weight. Experts say, eating a low-carb diet can make you lose about 3 times more weight than a calorie-restricted low-fat-diet. Low carb diet also has other health benefits for people with type 2 diabetes or metabolic syndrome.

Foods that help in Weight Loss

Whole Eggs:

Since eggs are high in protein and healthy fats they can make you feel full with very low amount of calories.

Leafy Greens:

Since they are low in calories and carbohydrates and are loaded with fiber they are perfect for weight loss.

Boiled Potatoes:

They are high in potassium and play an important role in blood pressure control.

Beans and Legumes:

These foods are high in protein and fiber but remember to prepare them properly.


Their high water content makes them filling and you end up consuming less of calories.

Cottage Cheese:

Again since these are rich in protein with relatively low number of calories and also high in calcium.


Even if they are high in carbs, avocados contain lot of water and fiber along with some of the most essential nutrients.

Apple Cider Vinegar:
